There are many fun amusement park attractions in Arlington, which is why staying at an IHG hotel near Six Flags is a smart idea. The Six Flags Over Texas amusement park is fun for kids and adults alike, since it has both thrill rides for the brave and kid-friendly rides for younger visitors. Here, you’ll also find many shopping and dining venues.

Another popular park is Six Flags Hurricane Harbor, which has a lot of water-based rides and pool-focused entertainment to keep the whole family busy on a hot day. Prepare to get wet.

Sports fans won’t want to miss AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys. It’s an architectural gem with a seating capacity of 80,000 and a standing capacity of over 105,000. In addition to football games, the stadium is used as a venue for concerts and other performances. Visitors can take a couple of tours of the stadium, including an interesting art tour.

If you’re a baseball fan, you can take a behind-the-scenes tour of Globe Life Park Stadium, home of the Texas Rangers. This stadium has also hosted two World Series championship games and the 1995 All-Star Game.

See Some Art

If you’re an art enthusiast, you can head to the Arlington Museum of Art, which showcases modern and contemporary art. It doesn’t have a permanent exhibition and collections change frequently, so there’s always something new to see. Another great option is the University of Texas at Arlington, which has a 5,000-square-foot gallery with many works of art.

Shop Till You Drop

If shopping is more your speed, Arlington has a couple of shopping malls with numerous stores and entertainment options. Don’t miss the Arlington Highlands or the Parks at Arlington.

Go Outside

Nature lovers won’t be disappointed in Arlington. Just 7 miles away from the city, you’ll find Arlington Lake, which offers a range of activities, such as fishing, Jet Ski rentals, and paddling along the trails. Every year, a bass fishing tournament takes place on the lake and offers great prizes.

Another great option is the River Legacy Park, a 1,300-acre park that’s perfect for a day out. It has several trails that are great for hiking and cycling along with a science center where you can learn about the area’s flora and fauna.

Arlington, Texas, offers many activities for the whole family. It’s a fun destination to visit whether you want to watch a game, spend a day at the amusement parks, paddle in the lake, or hike in one of its parks.
